Meghan's Matching Game
About the game
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
Meghan's Matching Game is a game designed for preschoolers. It is
very simple to play. The pictures are easily recognizable by young
children. Playing this game will help children develop concentration
and differentiation skills, not to mention that they feel like a `big'
person using the computer, especially when they can understand what they
are doing.
Meghan's Matching was written in Borland C++. I wrote it so I could
play with my 4 year old daughter Meghan. In this respect, the game
has been a total success. Meghan enjoys playing very much. She only
cares about finding the matches and couldn't care less about the score.
I recomend a trackball for children. A mouse requires that you pick it up
when you run out of table. Meghan is just getting the hang of a mouse,
however she has been using a trackball for over a year.
Since this game was written with preschoolers in mind, it is perfect for
people who are afraid of computers. It may not show them the
true power of your 486 tower - however, they still will be impressed.
Running the game
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
A mouse driver must be loaded before starting this game. See your mouse
manual for further details.
Just type MATCH at the DOS prompt. This game must be started in the directory
where the *.scn files are kept. For info on copying the files from a disk,
please see your DOS manual.
If you recieve a memory error, check to see if there are any TSRs running.
Remove them and try again.
It is a players turn when their score box is highlighted. The
player then selects two tiles. If the tiles match, that player will receive a
point and gets to go again. When two tiles that do not match are selected,
the tiles will be covered back up, and it becomes the other players turn.
